Can I change a question from text to a drop down without adding a new question? We have a cell named "City" which is a required question. We are finding folks are making mistakes typing in the city (typos or misspellings). I would like to change it to a selection list, but because we have a number of responses already I need to keep the mapping to the same column in the sheet. I don't see how I can do it by clicking on the settings button in the edit question area.

Hi Joe, you have created your form in Google Forms. You can change the question type from Short answer to Dropdown, but you will loose previously submitted answers for this question if these are not added as an answer choice in the dropdown list.
When you change it to a dropdown and add the list of cities, the answers with incorrect spellings and typos will be removed from Google Forms, but you can view these answers in the linked Google Sheets.
