Trying to allow used to pick multiple items. For exmaple, a tray of sandwiches is $89, but they can select up to 4 different types (ham, vego, cheese etc)

Hi Dan, when you add a product with variants, the allow users to select multiple variants option will not be enabled by default. In the order form, users can click on the add to cart button for the product, select a variant and the preferred quantity.
If you would like the users to select more than one variant, then login to Neartail > click on the form to open it > Edit page will be displayed > In the Edit page, click on the gear icon next to the product > Product settings page will be displayed > enable the "Allow users to select multiple variants" option and click Save.
