Beef Rendang is originated from Sumatra, Indonesia. It's beef that's cooked together with a spice paste (lemongrass, candlenut, coriander, cumin, kaffir leaves, shallots, garlic) and coconut milk, braising in its natural flavors until tender.
Served with yellow rice (infused with turmeric and a hint of coconut milk) and some side salad with peanut dressing (Gado-Gado)
Gado-gado in Indonesian literally means “mix-mix.“ The salad is a mixture of vegetables such as potatoes, green beans, bean sprouts, lettuce, cabbage, and hard-boiled eggs, all mixed in savory peanut sauce dressing. Some vegetables are blanched, some are fresh, resulting in some amazing textures.
