Our Red Fife Heritage Wheat Sourdough is made from locally sourced (New Richmond), freshly milled heritage wheat berries. This landrace variety traces back to Ukraine and was a predominant type of wheat grown throughout the Midwest from the 1860s until the early 1900s. Red Fife has not been hybridized and is an excellent choice for those with gluten sensitivities.
