City of Aurora Employees, Friends, and Family,
The Firefighters of Aurora Benevolent Fund (FABF) is excited to announce that we are now accepting design submissions for two upcoming special apparel campaigns:
October Cancer Awareness Month and November Military Appreciation Month.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity while supporting meaningful causes that impact our members, families, and community. We encourage all City employees, friends, and family members to participate by submitting original artwork that reflects the spirit and purpose of the selected campaign while proudly representing Aurora Fire Rescue and the City of Aurora. Designs should be professional, respectful, and suitable for public representation of our organization.
All submissions must comply with MOP 10.23 and will be reviewed and voted on by the FABF Board. The selected designs will then be submitted through the appropriate approval process before production.
Submission Guidelines
Design submissions are being accepted immediately through Monday, August 24, 2026
Both campaign design contests will open and close on the same dates
Final designs are expected to be selected on or about September 1, 2026
Selected designers will be notified via email
Submit all entries to support@thefabf.com
Preferred file formats are Vector, AI, PNG, SVG or TIFF
If you are unable to submit a digital art file, please do not let that discourage you from participating. We welcome hand-drawn concepts, sketches, and other formats. Military Appreciation Month (November)
The City of Aurora and Aurora Fire Rescue are proud to be home to many veterans and active-duty military members. Through the Military Appreciation Month campaign, we join organizations across the country in recognizing and honoring the service and sacrifices of our military personnel, both past and present.
The selected Military Appreciation design will be featured on the annual campaign shirt, which may be worn during approved observance periods, including throughout November, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day, in accordance with current department policy. Proceeds from this campaign will be donated by the FABF to organizations and initiatives that support service members, veterans, and their families.
Cancer Awareness Month (October)
The Cancer Awareness campaign provides an opportunity for our members and community to stand together in support of those affected by cancer. This campaign honors survivors, remembers those we have lost, and recognizes the strength of individuals and families currently facing cancer-related challenges. Proceeds from this campaign will be directed toward charitable causes and organizations that support cancer awareness, research, treatment, and patient assistance.
Special Campaign Supporting Items
In accordance with applicable department policies, Special Campaign Supporting Items may include, but are not limited to, Care Enough to Wear Pink, R.E.D. Shirt Friday, Black History Month, Pride Month, Military Appreciation Month, and other approved campaigns.
