Program Summary

The CityDance, Inc. Artist-in-Residence Program is designed to support the creative and professional development of dance artists by providing structured studio access, teaching opportunities, administrative collaboration, and performance integration. The program fosters a mutually beneficial exchange between City Dance, Inc. and the artist: In exchange of resources, space, and institutional support, the artists agree to support City Dance, Inc. programming through teaching, setting choreography, community engagement, and/or artistic engagement. 

Applicants may apply for ONE of two residency periods: June 2026 - August 2026 OR September 2026 - May 2027. Applicants are not allowed to apply to both residency periods. Dual submissions will be disqualified from consideration.

Applicants may apply under the following genres/movement forms:

• Modern, West African, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Commercial Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Kizomba, Bachata, Konpa, Salsa, Dance Fitness, House, K-Pop, etc. These are preferences in no particular order. Applicants are welcome to propose another genre/movement form, however no submissions are guaranteed.
