Operator Only Pre Show Checklist

This form is to be used where ER Productions are providing an operator for a local supplier of equipment or products.


It is intended that the operator describes in the ‘Response’ section how they were satisfied with the supply, layout, communication and supplier competency, or challenges to note.

Operators should only operate effects if they are satisfied they are safe. This checklist records the due diligence an operator should do to mitigate potential risks.

Pre Show Reporting Procedure

Please fill in this form after setup is complete and before the equipment is used. Although this form can seem repetitive, it is a crucial step.

DIFFERENT PEOPLE CAN FILL IN A FORM FOR THE SAME SHOW - e.g. IF LASERS AND PYRO WAS SEPARATE SETUP CREW.

It should be possible to see paperwork from the local supplier, including insurance, competency of personnel and a clear plan of control measures to be used. Suitable amounts of advance contact made with the supplier to raise any potential issues before getting to site.
There may be certain provisions or instructions by the
Production that influence the scenario.

There should be an adequate way to communicate with the
local supplier that is reliable during the show e.g. comms with
headsets. Preferably, there will be someone speaking in the
same language as the ER operator. There should be an
established protocol of words to be used during the show that
both sides understand.
The equipment should be installed in a layout that the ER
operator is happy with. This layout should follow accepted best
practice for safety of people and equipment.
