General Information
Carolina Trace Country Club (CTCC) is pleased to announce the 22nd annual Camp Trace, a one-week camp experience offered to children ages 7–13. Camp will run from June 22–June 26, 2026.
Registration· Registration for Camp Trace will begin March 1, 2026 for CTCC members.
· For all other interested campers, registration will begin March 6, 2026. Space is limited, so be sure to enroll as soon as possible.
· The deadline for registration for all campers is Friday, May 1, 2026.
· ALL completed registration forms MUST be received no later than May 1, 2026.
· Campers will only be considered “registered” once all forms are completed, signed and payment is received.
· An incomplete packet will not be considered “registered” until ALL pertinent forms are signed and received.
Check-In· Campers, accompanied by their sponsor or parent, must check-in on Sunday, June 21 on the patio outside the CTCC pro shop, between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
· At that time, campers will receive a Check-In Packet which will include:

◦ Activities Schedule
◦ Phone Tree
◦ Name Tags
◦ Group Assignments
◦ Volunteer Schedules
◦ Inclement Weather Information
◦ Camp Trace Tee Shirts
· Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
· Personal golf clubs and/or tennis racket(s) should be labeled with the camper’s name and telephone number and brought to check-in. ◦ The only clubs necessary are a 7 iron, putter and driver.
◦ Equipment will be stored at the club for the week, and then taken to the respective areas each morning by camp staff.
Activities
· Morning ◦ Morning activities consist of golf and tennis instruction, along with arts and crafts activities.
· Afternoon/Evening Activities ◦ There will be a variety of fun outdoor events (weather permitting), to be announced later. Campers and their families are encouraged to participate in the scheduled afternoon/evening activities.
◦ There will also be a free afternoon or evening, where there are no scheduled camp activities, to allow families to spend time together.
· Friday – Last Day of Camp ◦ Family golf will be scheduled the last day of camp, in the afternoon. (Optional)
◦ Interested families will need to sign up for a tee time.
◦ There will be a special evening closing program that all campers, sponsors and parents are encouraged to attend.
◦ If you wish to dine at CTCC prior to the closing ceremonies, you will need to make reservations to allow for enough time to eat and attend the closing ceremonies. (Time to be announced.)
Camp Trace Staff
· Camp Director - We are happy to have
Evan McSorley returning as our Camp Director for her 15th year. Evan is a mother and has taught in Lee County schools for 9 years. She has directed Camp Trace for 15 years and loves seeing returning faces!
· Golf Coach - Jeffrey Taylor, who currently serves as a PGA Associate and First Assistant Golf Professional at Carolina Trace Country Club. Jeffrey’s journey in golf commenced during his youth as a player and summertime caddie at his hometown country club. While serving on active military duty, he began preparing for his childhood dream of becoming a Golf Professional. Jeffrey has participated in previous Camp Trace programs and we welcome him back this year.
· Tennis Coach – Derrick Berry has worked as a tennis professional since 1991. He received his certification through the United States Professional Tennis Registry. He worked extensively in North Augusta, SC, at both the North Augusta Country Club and the City of North Augusta for 14 years. When he moved to Fayetteville, NC, he spent over 15 years as the Head Tennis Professional at Gates Four County Club where he coached several college players and held many summer tennis camps. Derrick has been with CTCC since 2022.
· Arts & Crafts - Barbara Berman & Christina Jennings will be providing Arts & Crafts. Barbara has long been affiliated with Camp Trace’s Arts & Crafts projects. Barbara is an accomplished and renowned local artist in Lee County. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and she has won numerous awards for her work. Christina is rejoining Camp Trace for her second consecutive year assisting with the Arts and Crafts program.
· Medical Staff and Volunteer Information
◦ There will be two nurses on duty each morning to provide assistance, if needed.
◦ The majority of the staff will consist of volunteers from our CTCC community.
◦ Each camper’s parents/grandparents or sponsors are encouraged to volunteer with some aspect of the Camp Trace. A volunteer form is included in this packet.
Cost· The cost for the week is $150 for CTCC members, and $180 for non-members.
◦ CTCC members may charge the camp registration fee to their accounts.
◦ Non-members must pay the full amount at the time of registration.
▪ Checks are to be made payable to Carolina Trace Country Club or 2026 Camp Trace and can be dropped off at the CTCC Pro Shop at 2100 Country Club Dr. Sanford, NC 27332 or you may come to the CTCC Pro Shop to make a payment via credit card.
◦ If you are not a member or resident of Carolina Trace, please call ahead for a pass into Carolina Trace gated community.
◦ 919-499-5121x1· The cost includes all camp activities, supplies and two Camp Trace tee shirts, to be worn during the week.
◦ Additional tee shirts can be ordered and purchased at the time of making the registration payment.
Snacks· Campers are encouraged to bring their own snacks each camp day to be enjoyed during a scheduled snack break.
Cancellation Policy· Cancellations made on or before May 31 will receive a full refund. Cancellations made after May 31 are non-refundable.
What to Wear, What to Bring· Once received, campers are asked to wear their Camp Trace tee shirts and name tags EVERY DAY.
· Tennis shoes and socks are required for morning activities.
◦ NO Flip flops, sandals or Crocs are to be worn.
· North Carolina summers are hot and muggy so shorts are a great option (no jeans or cutoffs).
· Hats or visors are strongly encouraged.
· A small backpack with sunscreen, bug spray and a water bottle is recommended.
◦ Water refills will be available after each activity.
· If campers have their own golf clubs, or tennis rackets, they are encouraged to bring them to check in on June 21.
◦ If campers do not have their own clubs or rackets, equipment will be provided.
◦ Please be sure to label all equipment that is the camper’s own with camper’s name and telephone number.
◦ Equipment will be kept in a secure area and be available to the camper when needed.
· Do NOT bring:
◦ Cell phones, iPods/iPads, electronic games or other devices.
◦ If a camper needs to contact their sponsor/parent, a staff member will assist with that.
Drop-off and Dismissal
· Parents/grandparents are responsible for campers’ transportation to and from camp.
· Campers should be brought to the upper parking lot of CTCC no later than 8:45 am and picked up from the upper parking lot by noon each day.
· The Camp Director, Evan McSorley, will hold daily informational meetings in the upper parking lot, prior to camper dismissal.
◦ Parents, grandparents or sponsors, please attend this meeting before picking up your camper. It is typically held around 11:45 am.
◦ Once the meeting is completed, we ask the adults to report to their camper’s counselors to check-out. This is to ensure all campers are safely where they need to be at the end of the morning session.
