Every official is required to re-certify between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024. By doing so, your current certification will be extended to August 31, 2027. Do not confuse your certification (ST, SR, DR, AO, AR) with your USA Swimming registration, APT and background check.

To re-certify ST, SR, DR, and AR, you must take the Stroke and Turn Certification exam. If you are only an AO, you must take the Administrative Official Certification exam. Everyone must complete 6 sessions at a minimum of two different meets between September 1, 2023 - August 31, 2024 (we of course want you to work many more meets and sessions than the minimum to re-certify). You may work at any position you are certified in. This includes apprenticing in an advancement certification. Your sessions need to be completed at USA Swimming sanctioned meets. Observed meets will not count.
