Your tax-deductible donation funds promote and enrich the musical education of young people in the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. BYSO not only provides enrichment outlets for outstanding young musicians and they have also become an important educational venue for local schools through our annual Introduction to the Orchestra performance at Binghamton University.

Colton Award - In memory of conductor emeritus, Russ Colton. Presented to a Junior Orchestra member who has exhibited musical growth and commitment.

Heath Award - Awarded to a Junior Orchestra member who has demonstrated musical excellence and leadership.

Fairbanks Award - Awarded to the graduating string player who has contributed the most to the Senior Orchestra.

Roth Award - Awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing a degree in music education.

Shifrin Award - Awarded to a graduating senior who does not play a string instrument and has made a major contribution to the Senior Orchestra.
