Clare's House Request for Foster Dog Care

Clare’s House Foster Care is intended for people who are hospitalized for a medical issue, receiving treatment at a facility that cannot accommodate a family dog or in a medical rehabilitation facility to recover from surgery. Maximum time for temporary fostering is three months. If the owner cannot take their pet home at that time, he/she MUST request an extension by emailing info@clareshousestl.org. This request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please allow up to two weeks for Clare's House to fully process and approve your application.

Before completing this application, please make sure you meet the following requirements for our Foster Care program:

  1. Owner must have a permanent residence.

  2. Vaccination records and photo must be sent via email addressed to:  info@clareshousestl.org

  3. Dogs that are determined to be reactive/not dog friendly cannot be fostered by Clare's House.

  4. Confirmation that all vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella) and preventive treatments are current for your pet. This is required for your pet to be fostered at Clare's House. If vaccinations are not current, you must bring them up to date before we can consider temporary fostering of your dog.
