Homeschool classes offer enriching science opportunities for preschool through high school learners in geology, biology, astronomy, chemistry, and more! Classes are designed to be hands-on as well as age and science content appropriate. Homeschoolers must be at least 4 years old and able to independently use the restroom.

To register:

1. Select the class(es) you would like to enroll in for your PreK - High Schooler. Please refer to the Homeschool Guide for class descriptions. We understand homeschoolers may differ from traditional grade groupings. CSC staff can assist with best placement for your learner.

   
   

2. Join or renew your Catawba Science Center membership HERE to receive member pricing on Homeschool Science Classes! Memberships must be valid through May 2026 to receive member pricing throughout the homeschool year.

   
   

3. Complete the registration and payment information. You must complete a separate registration form for EACH child.

   
   

4. CSC Office Staff will email confirmations once registrations are processed. Your registration is NOT finalized until you receive an email confirmation.

WHEN:

• PRESCHOOL-8th GRADE: Choose the Tuesday OR Wednesday during the 3rd week of each month from 1:00 pm-2:30pm

  
  

• HIGH SCHOOL: Classes take place on Wednesdays during the 3rd week of each month from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm

  
  

• DISSECTION CLASSES (7th grade and up): Wednesdays in the 3rd week of each month from 10:30 am-12:00 pm

CHECK IN: 10 minutes prior to class time in the West Education Building lobby (adjacent to the main Arts and Science building)

SIGN OUT: To ensure safety, sign-out will occur at the classroom doors in the West Education Building for all grade levels.

*Exceptions can be made for older students with parental permission, or for mobility limitations; contact Erin Graves for accommodations.

COST:

PRESCHOOL - 8th GRADE**

• CSC Members: $20.50/class + tax (entire year: $164.00 + tax)

• Non-members: $30.50/class + tax (entire year: $244.00 + tax)

**Some classes will have a small additional fee for materials. See prices when selecting classes.

HIGH SCHOOL:

• CSC Members: $24.50/class + tax

• Non-members: $34.50/class plus tax

DISSECTION CLASSES (7th grade and up)

• CSC Members: $20.50/class + tax + specimen fees (entire year $164.00 + tax + $85.00 specimen fees)

• Non-members: $30.50/class + tax + specimen fees (entire year: $244.00 +tax + $85.00 specimen fees)

Registration, Payment, & Refunds:

Payment and registration forms are required to reserve your child’s space. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select dates and classes you wish to register your child.

If you need to cancel a registration, you must do so at least two weeks prior to the class date in order to receive a refund, minus an administrative fee of $9.00. Please note, CSC reserves the right to cancel a class and issue full refunds if the minimum enrollment is not met.

If you sign up for the year, refunds will not be issued for missed programs, unless they are canceled by CSC.

An optional payment plan will allow for installments to be paid throughout the year. At the time of registration, $40.00 per child must be paid as a down payment.
