Permitted Piercings:

"Traditional ear piercing" is defined as a small-diameter perforation of the earlobe, typically performed for the placement of standard earrings. The opening must be of a size consistent with commonly worn stud or small hoop earrings and must not significantly alter the natural shape or appearance of the earlobe.

Prohibited Piercings and Modifications:

The following types of piercings and body modifications are not permitted:

Ear modifications, such as stretched earlobes ("gauges"), industrial bars, cartilage spikes, or multiple ear piercings beyond a standard pair of traditional earlobe earrings.
Facial piercings, including but not limited to piercings of the eyebrow, nose (nostril or septum), lips, tongue, cheeks, or dermal (subdermal) piercings on the face or neck.
Visible body piercings in areas exposed while wearing the standard police uniform, including piercings of the hands, arms, or other locations that may be visible due to short-sleeve or open-collar uniform options.
Body modifications or piercings that cause permanent or long-term visible deformation of the skin, face, mouth, or body, even if the jewelry has been removed, are not permitted. This includes but is not limited to:
- Stretched earlobes
- Scarred or visibly distorted tissue from prior piercings
- Tongue splitting (bifurcation) or any surgical body modification that alters natural anatomy in a visibly detectable way

All personnel are expected to maintain a professional appearance consistent with department standards. Jewelry or body modifications that draw undue attention, pose safety risks, or compromise the integrity of the uniform are prohibited.
