Red wine is made from dark-colored grape varieties. Most of the grapes have a colourless juice. Much of the red-wine production process therefore involves extraction of color and flavor components from the grape skin.

White wines are often used as an apéritif before a meal, with dessert, or as a refreshing drink between meals. White wines are considered more refreshing, and lighter in both style & taste than the majority of their red wine counterparts.

Sparkling wine is a wine with significant levels of carbon dioxide in it, making it fizzy. Sparkling wine is usually either white or rosé. The sweetness of sparkling wine can range from very dry brut styles to sweeter doux varieties.
