Buyers who earn 80% or less of Mecklenburg County’s Area Median Income (as determined annually by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development) are eligible for our program. DHC reserves the right to introduce additional requirements for participation in our programs, and these requirements may include (but are not limited to) participation in homeownership preparation courses and home maintenance programs.
Availability of homes for sale is limited, and we cannot always predict when a property will come on the market. For that reason, You may use this application to prequalify so that we can contact you when homes within the program are available for sale. This application does not guarantee applicants’ acceptance into the program or guarantee an applicant’s right to place an offer on a home in the program or guarantee any timeline for such opportunity. The application does not qualify the applicant for any mortgage products. All applicants will need to obtain mortgage prequalification prior to submitting an offer on an affordable home. The information provided in this application is time sensitive; if more than 3 weeks elapse prior to you making an offer on a home in the program, we will ask you to re-confirm or update the information you have provided here.
