What it takes to be a Shermalot member and why!

It can be a little overwhelming sorting through everything you have to do to ski and compete with Shermalot. Here is a quick (and simple!) guide on what you have to do and why. We will be honest with you, it will cost some money ($80-$300, depending on your role), and it will take some time (+/- 2 hours), but we hope you consider this a reasonable investment in a one-of-a-kind summer and a future filled with amazing friends and wonderful experiences.

Fill out a Membership Packet and Sign a Waiver - This makes sure the team has all the information we need about YOU! We want to make sure we know as much about our new friend and teammate as possible, and we want to ensure that you and the team have the info (and signatures) required to be protected in this adventurous summer.

Pay Team Dues - It’s expensive to run a ski team! Think about all the gas we burn. Team dues are the first step in funding the team’s activities, but we find that members get 10x the monetary value from being part of Shermalot than if they tried to do all this skiing on their own. 

Become a USA Water Ski Member - Insurance is an important part of our sport. By becoming a USA Water Ski Member, we can mitigate some of the risks associated with show skiing. This insurance is required to compete in tournaments. JOIN OR RENEW HERE $60 Under 25, $90 Individual, $190 Family (under 18)

18 or Over? Conduct your SafeSport Training. This is part of your USA Water Ski Membership. If you’re 18 or older, your membership will be active only after you complete your SafeSport training (about 2 hours online). SafeSport ensures you know how to recognize and report harassment and bullying, helping maintain a safe and fun environment for our kids.

Become a Wisconsin Water Ski Federation Member - We love to compete, and tournaments take a lot to put on! By becoming a part of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation, you can compete in the events they orchestrate. JOIN OR RENEW HERE $15 Individual, $30 Family (under 18)
